To make Hotel Chocolat hot chocolate without a Velvetiser,heat milk on the hob until it simmers.Remove from heat and whisk in the chocolate flakes.Return to the heat just long enough for the chocolate to melt, ensuring you don't boil the milk, as this can affect the cacao notes.Detailed Steps:

1. Heat the milk:In a pan, heat your milk of choice (dairy or plant-based) until it starts to simmer. You'll know it's ready when you see steam rising. 

2. Add the chocolate:Remove the pan from the heat and whisk in your Hotel Chocolat single-serve sachet of chocolate flakes or a substitute like grated chocolate. 

3. Melt the chocolate:Gently return the pan to a medium heat and continue whisking until all the chocolate has melted and the mixture is thick and glossy. 

4. Pour and enjoy:Pour the hot chocolate into your favorite mug and enjoy.
